- to protect his family from exposure to vulgar text and pornographic images.
The problem of spam email and computer viruses is a case of a few mischievous and malicious persons ("hackers") placing a burden upon the mass of Internet users which causes them aggravation, loss of time, and what is worse, a feeling of helplessness. Shouldn't the persons causing the problem be responsible for their actions? Isn't the industry or the government responsible for correcting this problem?
The problem of exposure to vulgar text and pornographic images is a case where web authors who serve only a special interest segment of the Internet are able to place their sites among all other general interest sites. Why does the Internet not have a built-in access restriction for these sites?
