Goals- The following are the goals of this organization and our website:
- Collection Resource- Be a collection resource for fully identifying and discussing problems with America which our viewers have deemed should be fixed immediately.
- Education - Assist our viewers in learning about such problems by presenting an in-depth discussion of all aspects of the problem. A viewer should be able to ask "Why does this problem exist?" or "What has been done so far to alleviate the problem?" and find the answer on this website.
- Citizen Participation- Since the task of analyzing and documenting all aspects of one of America's problems is so great, many persons are needed to gather data and present their findings so that an in-depth coverage of the problem can be acheived. To this end we hope to take advantage of the interactive nature of the Internet and the desire of our viewers to work for a better America.
- Political Motivation - If we have done a good job presenting our case that America's problems should be corrected and have recommended reasonable solutions, we can take our elected officials to task if they can not accomplish this using their legislative powers.

Members- Members are viewers who have expressed an interest in helping to make this site a success by helping to develop and organize the site's content.. We recommend that Members pick the single problem topic that is most important to them; for example, Health> Medicare. The problem may be important to them because they work in a certain field, have been personally exposed to or experienced the problem, or possess certain knowledge of the problem. Of course, member participation is at the member's convenience. Member participation is strickly voluntary and is in no way monitored. Our goal is to have member participation to assist with the full coverage and development of each problem topic that is listed in the website.. The following are ways in which Members may contribite:
- Problem Research- These members will submit information which helps to document and explain any aspect of a problem area topic-. Description, History/Background, Congressional Involvement, Recommended solution, and Parties with authority to effect change. These members will also seek answers to questions our viewers have asked about the problem topic. Questions asked by our viewers will be included on the discussion page with a "Question" label.
- Readings Research- These members will bring to our viewers attention any articles or books that deal with a problem topic.. These members will submitted the title, author, date, a few lines of description, and associated media source or website source.
- Link Research - These members who have an interest in surfing the Internet and visiting sites or blogs which discuss current political issues will bring these sites to our viewers attention.
- Computer Graphic Artist - The webmaster will gracefully accept any help in making the site more attractive and enjoyable to our visitors.
- Editor - Members who have a high interest in a problem topic and possess writing skills may volunteer to be the editor for that problem topic. These members will be those who have some spare time to review viewer inputs, edit the information for readability, and integrate the information into the topic discussion page. Editors will not receive material directly from viewers. The administrator will receive all viewer inputs, screen them, and then forward them to the appropriate editor. Assigning editors will insure that each discussion page has a unique style, is easily readable and devoid of duplications.
It is hoped that political science students will volunteer to be editors and that their participation in developing this site will be recognized and be rewarded by their professors.
Member Credit- So that members will be recognized (1) for their interest in identifying and correcting the problems they find in America, and (2) for their participation in developing this site, a member's Username will appear at the end of any material they have contributed that is included in the site's content.
- Member Username- Members will create a Username when they first use the Visitor Input Form to submit information to the site. This Username will be used on the website to identify the submitter as the author source of the material.
- Member Identification- Members will create a Member Identification text string that will be used to give website visitors an idea of the type of person making a contribution to the discussion of one of America's problems presented on the organization website. Member identifications will be displayed only as a pop-up item when a viewer who is curious about who the author is, clicks on the Username.
Both the organization, LetUSFixAmerica, and the sponsoring company, The Gaston Co., will control and maintain the privacy of both Usernames and Member Identifications.

My Background- My interest in American politics and government started back in the '60s when for 14 years I lived just north of Washington, D.C in Maryland and worked both as a serviceman and as a civilian at the National Security Agency. During that time I worked as a Russian Translator, an Intelligence Analyst, and a Computer Programmer. Following my work in the government I continued my computer career working in software design, documentation, and testing. This work afforded me the opportunity to work as a permanent employee and contract programmer for Government, Military, Aerospace, and Business employers in several states. I retired fom my computer career in 2001 when I found myself a victim of the outsourcing of computer work to companies overseas.
